With the Journalism and other mass communication streams gaining greater importance in civic life, there is a need for a very strong foundation for young students aspiring to a profession in this wide field. Keeping in view the potential of the field, the IAMR Ghaziabad became one of the pioneer Institutes to offer Mass Media education.
The course offered here is the degree course Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication (BJMC). It is a three-year full time degree course affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.The course design ensures inclusion of different aspect of journalism and mass media.
At the IAMR Ghaziabad, special emphasis is laid on creating an environment where the students pursuing BJMC course get opportunities to interact with senior professionals and gain hands-on experience in their chosen field of activity. The students are sent to various TV Channels, radio stations, newspaper /magazine offices, news agencies and corporate for interface with eminent media personalities.
Apart from the regular university syllabus, the IAMR Ghaziabad offers specializations to ensure intensive exposure to the students’ preferred field of activity. These specializations begin in third semester. Students may choose from the offered specializations. Every student gets two such specializations through the second and third years of the course.
Also, Value-added courses in Personality Development Programme (PDP) as well as Hindi and English language and writing.

Learning by doing is the philosophy that IAMR believes in. There are more than 20 student driven clubs, divided into two categories- Life skill based clubs and Employability skill or Domain Clubs. The clubs are owned and managed by a student council and have monthly agenda, meetings and a event calendar that prudently followed for maximum opportunity and skill based learning outside classrooms.
Candidates seeking admission to the BJMC Programme must have passed 10+2 (or its equivalent) examination in any stream with a minimum of 45% marks for General and OBC candidates and pass marks for SC and ST candidates from a recognized Board/ University.
Candidates appearing for +2 examination or awaiting their results are also eligible to apply. Their candidature, however, shall be considered, subject to their clearing the qualifying examination.
